Beer & Cider
Budweiser Budvar - 5%£5.00
The original Budweiser might be the most familiar sight on this list, but there is no argument that with 700 years brewing experience this Czech Pilsner is consistently recognised even by the most cynical of beer critics as one of the best lagers in the world.
Innis & Gunn Lager - 5%£5.00
Respected and award winning Scottish brewers have produced a lager that is a cleaner and more accessible alternative to Budweiser Budvar whilst retaining ‘cool’ credentials and nicely packaged.
Little Creatures Pale Ale - 5%£6.00
This benchmark pale ale from Australia is a cult classic and one of the highest regarded pale ales in the world. For those not keen on heavy-hitting IPAs this offers a great alternative to lager.
Aspall Suffolk Cider - 5.5%£9.00
Cider saw a bit of a boom a few years ago, followed by a somewhat desperate oversaturation of the market with brands and flavours clearly aimed at the younger portion of the market. In the meantime Aspall – the Grande Damme of British cider – released this dry, lip-smacking and thirst quenching classic to celebrate 275 of cyder production from 8th generation brothers.
Goose Island IPA - 5.9%£5.00
A benchmark brew from Chicago that changed the game when it was released in the UK, a hop lovers dream and a splendid representation of why the IPA category is the best known and most called for in the craft beer world.
Lagunitas - 6.2%£8.25
A cult classic from California that was something of an IPA Holy Grail in the UK up until recently – now acquired by Heineken we can finally get our hands on this old-style heavy hitter. One for real hop-loving beer buffs.
Theakston Old Peculier - 5.6%£6.00
Theakston might not have the cutting edge cool of some of the new wave breweries, but this multi-award winning beer is probably the best representation of a classic English old ale one can find in a bottle, and the Yorkshire brewery remains a quiet darling of beer experts. A true British pub beer.
Erdinger Weissbier - 5.3%£5.00
For those who love a great ‘hefeweizen’ on a hot day, there are few who can contest this classic premium German wheat beer.
Guinness Original - 4.2%£5.00
There are many contenders for Guinness’ throne, but this Irish stout is one of the most iconic beer brands in the world for a reason.
Duvel - 8.5%£5.00
For those after a slow sipper, this incredible Belgian Trappist ale is undeniably complex yet well balanced, another example of the best in class for the style.
Liefmans Fruitesse - 3.8%£5.00
Although some might sniff at fruit beers there certainly is a place for them, and classically the Belgian’s do it best. This is a very refreshing, unique and low alcohol beer blended with natural strawberry, raspberry, cherry, billberry and elderberry from a great brewery.
